Parade of Ponds- Chris' Water Gardens

Parade of Ponds- Chris' Water Gardens

June 22, 2016

Chris' Water Gardens
I had the distinct honor to meet the family and staff associated with Chris' Water Gardens last season. We did a really nice article on the company; how they started, what they offer, their customers and the water gardens. I'm talking people that are just down-to-earth and wonderful. And they make stunning creations with their water gardens. Take a look.
Chris' Water Gardens
This is Illini Basketball sensation Rick Schmidt's garden. Actually it's the back of his garden. This is the side that faces the golf course. Rick wanted people to enjoy the garden from the golf course, too. There's even a bench to sit and enjoy the scenery!
Here's the whole back of Rick's garden. It's stunning. You have to be there to get the whole experience, though. The sound of the water is soothing. For me, taking pictures, it was a workday. Heck, I was so relaxed after I did the shoot, I had a smile on my face all day long. I think that's the cool part of the job Chris Sturdyvin and crew does for people- it's therapeutic, it's beautiful and it's fun.

Another view of the back of Rick's house. Look at the plantings. Gorgeous. These pictures don't even begin to show even half of the beauty of this garden. And guess what? You can actually see some gardens for yourself!
Chris' Water Gardens
For one day only, you can view 22 water features and gardens. That's right, so if you ever wanted to maybe have a garden built for you and you want to get information of the variety available, this is a good way to get ideas. Tickets are only $5 per person and can be purchased at Prairie Gardens, Illini FS, Sleepy Creek Vineyard and Growing Grounds in Bloomington. Tickets will be available at all locations this Saturday. You will see gardens and features in Champaign, Danville, St. Joseph, Philo, and the Homer areas

Here's Chris at his own water garden. The whole Sturdyvin family is really friendly and amazing. You will be happy to meet them when you view the gardens and features at the Parade of Ponds.
Chris' Water Gardens
Here's an expanded view of the Sturdyvin garden. I remember just standing there in awe of this beauty. Talk about a retreat.

This is another view of the back of the Sturdyvin home and their garden retreat. See what I mean?

That sound of trickling water is soothing, plus this great view. Wow! Come see the beauty first-hand at the Parade of Ponds.
Chris' Water Gardens
When Chris builds a water garden, he also maintains it, stocks the koi-the fish- has aquatic plants available for you and any support you need. You become one of the family.
Chris' Water Gardens
I know, right? Ahhhh!!!
Chris' Water Gardens
Say you're wanting the beauty, but do not have the space or budget for a large water garden. No problem, Chris' Water Gardens has an amazing variety of water features for a small space or budget. Love it! And the service is the same. They will take care of you. You will see many wonderful water features at the Parade of Ponds.

Imagine relaxing after a hard day in this beautiful space.
